Founded in 1995 by brothers Arvind and Vijay, BIGOT documented Singapore’s local hardcore scene. The zine was driven by contributions—opinion pieces, illustrations, comics, reviews— from the community. It aimed to spotlight local and regional music that was overlooked by more mainstream publications of its time.

The show that never happened. This was to feature a slew of bands ranging from crust, punk, hardcore and riot grrrl such as PsychoSonique, Minus, The JhaiAlai, SMD, The Hatred Jackals, The Jabs and Kindread among others.
The show was later rebranded as Oriental Fest’98, but it failed to actualise due to a venue booking issue.

Printed on newsprint—a rarely used paper stock in Singaporean zine culture due to its limited accessibility—the zine employed traditional production techniques such as cut-and-paste layouts with typewritten text (using both manual and electric typewriters), hand-drawn logos and graphic elements, and collaged images ripped from magazines.
